Social Protection Study

This report outlines the work conducted in the research study on government social protection programs. It includes a review of existing literature and presents the key findings and recommendations identified during the research. The research study of three Government Social Protection Programs i.e. Sehat Sahulat Program, Benazir Income Support Program and Ba Himmat Buzurg Program was conducted in August
2024 - January 2025. The study was commissioned by Foundation for Ageing and Inclusive Development to DevCon Development Consultants (Pvt.) Limited. The objectives of the study were to (a) assess the effectiveness, inclusiveness and sustainability of government implemented social security programs, identify potential access barriers that older people (above 60) or and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) face in benefiting from these programs. (b) make recommendations for required reforms to ensure healthy and dignified lives.
