Inclusive Humanitarian & Resilience Programme

Older men and women and those with disabilities and transgender are amongst the worst impacted during an emergency yet they are often overlooked in emergency responses and disaster risk reduction programs. We promote inclusive humanitarian and disaster resilience programmes and policies. We work with older men and women, persons with disabilities and other stakeholders to ensure that older people are involved at all stages of disaster resilience programs and policies and that their specific needs are taken into account in all emergencies.

We have responded following emergencies:

  • Winter Response: most vulnerable families were provided with winter kit (including quilts, Woolen shawls, caps, socks etc)

COVID19 Response:

  • Distribution of Food packs to most vulnerable families.
  • Distribution of personal protection kits.
  • Mass media campaign bout preventive measures for COVID and vaccination of older people
  • Training of family members on how to take care of bed ridden, older persons and persons with disability
