FAID (فائد) – Emergency Response in Buner, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Immediate Response – Bishnoi Village Visit
On August 19, 2025, FAID’s Emergency Response Team visited Bishnoi village, one of the worst-hit areas of Buner. Families reported washed-away homes, food stocks, and livestock, leaving many in overcrowded shelters with food insecurity and trauma.
Older people, women, and PWDs were the most affected, facing mobility barriers and exclusion from aid.
FAID’s Actions:
- Distributed clean water to 150 families
- Conducted needs assessments & FGDs
- Mobilized partnerships for inclusive relief
Scaling Up with GEF Support
- With GEF and HelpAge International support, FAID has expanded its activities, focusing on:
- Scaled up safe water supply
- Planned on distributing Hygiene & Dignity Kits and assistive devices
- Running community awareness sessions on disease prevention
- Coordinated with partners to ensure no one is left behind
